I have been wanting to experiment wearing prints on prints but it just isn’t that easy to try to match them so that I don’t end up looking like I am in a costume and all ready to keep the kids entertain in a party.
Guess the easiest way out has just got to be sticking with the safest colors in the wardrobe, BLACK and WHITE.
The first layer is a polka dots tube and a pencil skirt with diagonal stripes texture.
It isn’t very obvious in real life but you can see it quite clearly in the picture above.
And threw on a nautical striped jacket and it doesn’t seem quite that bad after all.
At least I felt I could head to work in these. :-p
I think most of us would have used the highlighter some point in our schooling life.
And sometimes we have more than a handful in our pencil cases!
When I was planning for my outfit for Neon colours for Everybody, Everywear’s theme, I realised that haven’t been too adventurous in incorporating neon colours into my wardrobe. And after some digging through my wardrobe, I found something that was a highlighter red!
I tried to tone down the brightness with softer pink hues for the rest of my outfit so that it looked more work appropriate and less of a walking neon signboard.
The lace top was a hand me down from my colleague and I loved it despite it being about 2 sizes larger than my usual.
As I have very broad shoulders, it fitted nicely on the shoulders area but there was quite airy in the waist area, so I clinched the top at the waist with a skinny belt.

It’s my outfit post again! And I promise the next post is not going to be my outfit post.
I must admit though that it is so much easier to do an outfit post as opposed to a travel or dining post. :-p
I love polka dots as they make an outfit a little more fun and a little more interesting. What more a dress with haphazard dots in two colours!
Love this dress as it is thick enough to weigh the dress down to give it enough form and it just makes me a happy girl wearing it.
Not forgetting the vintage vibes it gives. 🙂

It was a horribly hot and humid weekend! (>_<“)
Headed to Johor over the weekend as our photos are ready for selection already! Both Beebops and I were a little excited and a little worried about how the pictures might turn out. Thankfully it turned out fine. 🙂
We had our lunch at Old Town White Coffee at City Square first.
The monkey with his funny faces while waiting for the food.
Mine was chicken char siew (roast meat) with dumpling noodles & his was Nasi Lemak.
And a cuppa Old Town White Coffee Gao (Strong) each to prepare us for the use of our concentration and eye power when choosing our pictures!
I enjoyed the photo selection process as we were both quite sure of what we didn’t want in our pictures and we agree on almost all the choices together.
We were given 141 pictures to select from and after close to three hours of choosing we made our choices. *gasp*
I wonder how long it would have taken if we had more differing views.
It was close to dinner time and we headed to a place which was recommended by my colleague.
The skewered BBQ food and Claypot Lou Xu Fun (老鼠粉） are their popular dishes.
So we ordered the recommended dishes and a plate of sweet potato leaves.
We waited quite long to be served our food as the place was rather packed. And we both got a little restless and was kind of spacing out as we were mentally tired from the photo selecting.
I am not too sure if I was due to that that the both of us felt that the food tasted normal and not really worth the wait.
The Claypot Lou Xu Fun had a good serving of minced & sliced meat and nicely braised Chinese mushrooms. The prawns used were not fresh prawns but were those that has been dried and soaked in brine before as it was dry and tasteless. The soup base of this claypot lou xu fun wasn’t as flavorful or tasty as it looks.
The sweet potato leaves was cooked with most of the stems which is usually removed as it is very tough and fibrous.
For the skewered BBQ food, we ordered prawns, chicken wings and abalone mushroom.
The mushroom & chicken wings tasted quite nice but the prawn was dry and not sweet tasting.
If you are in Johor and would like to try the food at the restaurant, below is the address.
It is along the street of The Store at Taman Sentosa, on the left hand side if you turned in from the main road.

And the inspiration was from Inspiration Monday…
This Spring is so “Cool” & “Refreshing” with the Minty trend!
Personally I don’t quite think that the mint colour complements my skin tone as it makes me look a little darker and dirtier looking.
Despite this, I am still unable to resist this fresh vibrant colour and have a few pieces of clothing in Mint.
I had this pair of Mint colour capri from Mango from seasons back, or should I say eons back.. If my memory doesn’t fail me this Mint capri is at least 7 years old. *gasp*
Many times I have contemplated donating it away in the past 7 years, as I always have problems trying to pair it with any thing except white which was very boring I must say. This problem led to the reason why I wore it for less than 10 times in the past 7 years.
I am so THANKFUL I didn’t give up on it!
With the Mint trend breezing into Spring, inspirations are just everywhere on the internet.
And this picture was what I was inspired by…
I forgot where I got this picture from and hence I am unable to provide the link or credits to this person.
If this picture is yours, please let me know so that I can update the credits.

If I had taken a picture 7 year ago with this capri maybe it would look like this. 😛
Have a good day!
I can never resist anything with the Ribbon Bow, much less a garment with three bows.
Plus it is in a flattering dusty pink shade.
This jacket makes me feel just a little more demure whenever I wear it.
I think it affects me in little ways like how talk & walk. :-p
Pleated Wool Skirt: Beijing, Tank top: Cotton On, Jacket: OL Affair
Half way through the day, I realised that my outfit could pass off as an elevator girl’s uniform in the prim and proper sense.

Thanks for dropping by!
It is another tribal inspired outfit and this was taken before my vacation in Vietnam too. Pardon how slow I am to update my blog!
I must get down to updating my blog proper soon else things life just moves on and I just feel too lazy to blog about them.
Anyway back to my outfit, this accordion pleated skirt was a gift from Beebops when he went to Thailand with the boys and it was worn by the villagers in Chiang Mai.
I love the skirt’s bright designs all around.
As I wore this outfit to work, I kept the rest of the outfit black and simple and threw on a black blazer in an attempt to make it look less casual.
Blazer: Zara, Tube Top: Victoria Secrets
Thanks for dropping by! I promise to update my travelogues soon!
