They finish off a work outfit with a touch of sophistication and sexiness. And lends a feminine charm when paired with ripped jeans on a casual date. How can we not love the pointed pumps! I own pointed pumps in quite a number of colours from black and white and colourful ones, but one of my favourites are these rose gold metallic ones cos the colour is actually in the neutral tones and it really makes my legs slim and long! The heels are a comfortable 3.5 inch and I have no problem wearing them from day to night. Important point to note when you use this method of tax refund is to remember to visit an e-VAT refund machine or tax refund service counter at the airport or port for verification prior to your departure and request the cancellation of the security deposit. Otherwise you will not be able to get  your security deposit back, which could be quite a substantial amount.

I have been pretty busy at work and have been travelling mainly for snowboarding trips which has been lots of fun and tiring at the same time cos afterall it is a sports and requires quite a bit of energy and stamina.

Amidst the fun of travelling, I managed to visit Dr Kellyn from Lux Medical Aesthetic Clinic to discuss about possible options of creating a slimmer face.

First impressions are formed within seconds of the contact and when I stepped into Lux Medical Aesthetic Clinic, I can’t help but feel a sense of calm and warmth from the beautiful and tastefully decorated interiors. The marble and brass touches to the reception area carried off the luxurious vibes of Lux Medical Aesthetic Clinic without being too overbearing and pretentious. Just really gentle and feminine. The clinic assistants were also really warm, friendly and very personable.[/fusion_text][fusion_text]My consultation with Dr Kellyn was about my jawline which is strong and squarish and often gives the impression that I am very stern and serious. During the consultation, Dr Kellyn requested me to clench my teeth so that she could gauge the size of my jaw muscles and confirmed that I did have a significant muscle mass at my jaws which created a squarish jawline.

At the same time, Dr Kellyn shared about face proportions and that the ideal nose and chin projection should be down in the same vertical line and she used a pen placed against my nose tip and chin to illustrate this. From this, she found that my chin lacked volume and was receding from my nose tip down and the tip of my chin is also quite flat. In addition to botox for my reducing my jawline, she recommended that I could include chin fillers that would help to smoothen the shape of my face.

For me, I was a little hesitant about getting fillers done as my previous experience done around the eye area left me with small nodules of fillers around my eye socket which took quite a number of years to dissolve away. Though it wasn’t visible, when I was and massaged my face, I could feel it and didn’t like the feeling of it. And when I expressed this concern to Dr Kellyn, she explained that it wouldn’t be the same for the chin area as the fillers will tend to just stick to the chin area and not glide around like that of the eye area which didn’t have a nice area for it to adhere to.

With Dr Kellyn’s gentle and reassuring words, it didn’t take much for me to agree to trying the chin fillers for the first time.

The outcome of the consultation is botox for reducing the jawline and fillers to add volume and shaping of my face. The illusion it gave was that my face was more 3 dimensional and somehow the jaws looked less prominent too. And next we moved on to getting the jaw botox done. The procedure was simple, painless and fast. Just a one minute icing of the jaw muscles and in three jabs on each side, it was completed. I have not done any hair and scalp treatments besides those that I do after a hair colouring and I did have that nagging feeling that my scalp is not quite healthy and has been pretty abused with many years of hair colouring.

True to my suspicion, my scalp was not doing all that fine and that my oily yet dehydrated scalp problem led to other problems like clogged follicles and flaky scalp. The close up shots were not pretty sights and you can even see the layer of oil that has collected around my hair shaft. Yikes!

The build-up of gunk in my hair follicles has also led to my hair follicles not being able to grow optimally at two to three hair strands per follicle, but instead only have one strand per follicle.

Lazada Super Beauty Day

I have a rather faint impression of my first experience in Secondary School where I was at a close friend’s house preparing to go on a group date with. At that time, I did not even have a single bit of interest in makeup nor any experience in make up as my mom never wore any and I had no one to learn it from. I only started to learn more about makeup when I was in University, where I learnt the importance of a nicely shaped brows and how eyeliners made me look more alive when I went for the first lecture of the day after a late night out at the club. ; p

But nothing is more memorable than a makeup disaster!

It was a warm humid afternoon and I was preparing myself, putting on my make up, ready for a weekend night out. I knew I was going to be out late into the night and wanted my makeup to last through the night as I wasn’t bringing my makeup pouch to touch up. Diligently, I put on primer followed by the liquid foundation. And the hot afternoon left a tacky layer of foundation on top of my skin.  The next layer was to be the loose powder which will properly set and seal the foundation layer.

I reached for the loose powder and unscrew its huge round cover carefully to prevent agitating the loose powder which can sometimes cause a cloud of powder when I open it too hastily. As I was about to dip my fluffy powder brush into the tub, I felt a twitch on my nose and a second twitch. And before I knew it, I let out a huge shower of sneeze right into the tub of fine loose powder in my hand. At the same time, I lost grip of the tub and saw it slowly slip out of my hands and nose diving onto the floor. It landed with a light tud followed by a POUFF.

And the rest is Magic!

Well I wish I could say that when I was cleaning up! 😦

Only about an hour of cleaning up later was I able to leave home flustered and with a story all ready to tell my friends!

With a country so culturally and religiously centered around Buddhism, visiting the pagodas would be a great place to observe the locals with their normal lives at the same time admire the architecture of the pagodas. Of the 6 recommended pagodas, I decided to visit two, the Sule Pagoda and Shwedagon Pagoda.

The golden Mon style pagoda is 44 meters high and it is a prominent landmark easily spotted when you head towards the city center. It design is unique from others as its octagonal shape flows from the base all the way up to the spire and topped with an ornamental element shaped like an umbrella. The Sule Pagoda is deeply respected as it enshrines a hair relic of the Buddha.

The roads encircle the Sule Pagoda leaving it to stand right in a busy roundabout in the city center. I didn’t enter the premise of Sule Pagoda but instead viewed the pagoda from an overhead bridge linking to the circular plot.

I would say that it is mandatory to visit Shwedagon Pagoda!

Set atop a hill, the drive towards Shwedagon Pagoda sees the busy streets filled with food vendors for hungry pilgrims, flower vendors for holy offerings and stone sculptors for those looking for peace at home. When you alight at the vicinity of the temple, you will have to climb up some flight of steps before you are actually at the temple gates. However its actual history is rather unclear as the Burmese believed that it was built more than 2,500 year ago but historians and archeologists believed that it was built in 6th to 10th centuries AD, which is about more than 1,400 years ago. Put aside its iffy history, the grandeur and majestic Shwedagon Pagoda greets you as you stand at its entrance. The Pagoda is covered in hundreds of gold plates blinding me in the hot afternoon sun and the top of the stupa is encrusted with more than 4,000 diamonds with the largest one at 72 carat. The main stupa, standing at 110meters, is surrounded by many smaller temple, stupas and statues that are intricately details and a good display of design and architecture.

The bustling grounds of the Shwedagon Pagoda sees devotees and monks offering flowers and food, worshipping, meditating and showering the statues.

Like many other temples and place of worship in South East Asia, there is a more conservative dress code and visitors should wear bottoms that cover to at least the knee and top which has sleeves. Upon entering Shwedagon Pagoda’s premises, visitors are also expected to walk around the area barefooted. If you do happen to be inappropriately dress when you visit, the ticketing station will inform you and you will be able to rent some scarves or long cloth to cover up before entering.

The entrance fee to about US$8 at the time of my visit in May 2018.

I am very blessed to be born in Singapore where gender equality is encouraged and safety is not a huge concern.

MY EXPERIENCE

[/title][fusion_text]The directions for Purewhite Radiance supplement is twice a day, one capsule in the morning one at night. I took it for about two weeks consistently and I was pleasantly surprised to see some improvements in my skin. My skin was less dry and less oily and it maintained a more even skin tone.

As this is a supplement, the effects can be seen on the skin throughout the whole body. I had some scratch scars on my legs and I saw how it healed to be evenly coloured with the surrounding skin.

In the third week of usage, I went on a vacation to a neighbouring country. Knowing that I will be outdoors most of the day, my exposure to the sun rays were going to be much higher, I packed Heliocare Oral Capsules for sun protection and Heliocare Purewhite Radiance Max 240 to minimize the effects of the sun on my skin.

I spent about 4 to 5 hours at the beach for two days and these two Heliocare supplements really kept my skin burnt free. Although I did get a light tan, it was way lesser than my usual rate of tanning. Also, my skin did not feel parched from the sun exposure.

This is definitely proof that these supplements really protects the skin while reducing the melanin production.
