[outfit] Highlighter

I think most of us would have used the highlighter some point in our schooling life.

And sometimes we have more than a handful in our pencil cases!

Photobucket

When I was planning for my outfit for Neon colours for Everybody, Everywear’s theme, I realised that haven’t been too adventurous in incorporating neon colours into my wardrobe. And after some digging through my wardrobe, I found something that was a highlighter red!

Photobucket

I tried to tone down the brightness with softer pink hues for the rest of my outfit so that it looked more work appropriate and less of a walking neon signboard.

Photobucket

The lace top was a hand me down from my colleague and I loved it despite it being about 2 sizes larger than my usual.

As I have very broad shoulders, it fitted nicely on the shoulders area but there was quite airy in the waist area, so I clinched the top at the waist with a skinny belt.

[WeekN Project] Deco Helmet

In my trips overseas, it is almost a guarantee that amongst all these trips there would be bound to be a couple of beach holidays.

For such holidays, Beebops always says that instead of always hiring a driver for a day, we could always rent a bike at very affordable prices and explore the area at our own pace. Well it sounds like quite a nice and breezy idea but I have been very fearful of the thought of being a pillion in Singapore due to the lack of respect drivers give to motorcyclist on the roads.

For me, it is a must to wear a helmet no matter how silly we look or how short the distance is. And Beebops does have a bike license although quite a lot of bike rentals do not check for a valid license but I seriously don’t advise on riding without a license. To me anyone can travel in a straight line or make simple turns on a bike, but when it comes to reacting to certain road conditions, the untrained rider would not know how to handle the bike and the pillion in a safe way.

I didn’t rule out nor agreed to the suggestion but instead got myself a helmet in preparation for our Phuket trip.

Beebops has an Arai helmet whose design I find really cute as it has a pair of eyes at the front.

The helmet I bought was the half cap kind and not these full face helmets cos I wanted to the wind in my face and my hair for the beach holiday feel!

So I decided that it was time for a DIY and my inspiration is the helmet below:

Photobucket

I drew on the outline of the eyes with a market and made the line of thickness enough for two crystals side by side.

Photobucket

I used opaque black crystals for most of the eye except at the area of reflection in the eye in which I used silver.

Photobucket

All these were stucked onto the helmet with epoxy glue.

After many many many nights, finally it is ready!

It’s great to have another pair of eyes to spy with! 🙂

[Outfit] Spotted Again

It’s my outfit post again! And I promise the next post is not going to be my outfit post.

I must admit though that it is so much easier to do an outfit post as opposed to a travel or dining post. :-p

I love polka dots as they make an outfit a little more fun and a little more interesting. What more a dress with haphazard dots in two colours!

Photobucket

Love this dress as it is thick enough to weigh the dress down to give it enough form and it just makes me a happy girl wearing it.

Not forgetting the vintage vibes it gives. 🙂

[Oufit] ‘Spotted’ across the Causeway

It was a horribly hot and humid weekend! (>_<“)

Headed to Johor over the weekend as our photos are ready for selection already! Both Beebops and I were a little excited and a little worried about how the pictures might turn out.  Thankfully it turned out fine. 🙂

We had our lunch at Old Town White Coffee at City Square first.

The monkey with his funny faces while waiting for the food.

Mine was chicken char siew (roast meat) with dumpling noodles & his was Nasi Lemak.

Photobucket

And a cuppa Old Town White Coffee Gao (Strong) each to prepare us for the use of our concentration and eye power when choosing our pictures!

Photobucket

I enjoyed the photo selection process as we were both quite sure of what we didn’t want in our pictures and we agree on almost all the choices together.

We were given 141 pictures to select from and after close to three hours of choosing we made our choices.  *gasp*

I wonder how long it would have taken if we had more differing views.

It was close to dinner time and we headed to a place which was recommended by my colleague.

The skewered BBQ food and Claypot Lou Xu Fun (老鼠粉) are their popular dishes.

Photobucket

So we ordered the recommended dishes and a plate of sweet potato leaves.

We waited quite long to be served our food as the place was rather packed. And we both got a little restless and was kind of spacing out as we were mentally tired from the photo selecting.

I am not too sure if I was due to that that the both of us felt that the food tasted normal and not really worth the wait.

The Claypot Lou Xu Fun had a good serving of minced & sliced meat and nicely braised Chinese mushrooms. The prawns used were not fresh prawns but were those that has been dried and soaked in brine before as it was dry and tasteless. The soup base of this claypot lou xu fun wasn’t as flavorful or tasty as it looks.

The sweet potato leaves was cooked with most of the stems which is usually removed as it is very tough and fibrous.

For the skewered BBQ food, we ordered prawns, chicken wings and abalone mushroom.

The mushroom & chicken wings tasted quite nice but the prawn was dry and not sweet tasting.

If you are in Johor and would like to try the food at the restaurant, below is the address.

It is along the street of The Store at Taman Sentosa, on the left hand side if you turned in from the main road.

[Outfit] Mint pants in not so Mint condition

This Spring is so “Cool” & “Refreshing” with the Minty trend!

Personally I don’t quite think that the mint colour complements my skin tone as it makes me look a little darker and dirtier looking.

Despite this, I am still unable to resist this fresh vibrant colour and have a few pieces of clothing in Mint.

I had this pair of Mint colour capri from Mango from seasons back, or should I say eons back.. If my memory doesn’t fail me this Mint capri is at least 7 years old. *gasp*

Many times I have contemplated donating it away in the past 7 years,  as I always have problems trying to pair it with any thing except white which was very boring I must say. This problem led to the reason why I wore it for less than 10 times in the past 7 years.

I am so THANKFUL I didn’t give up on it!

With the Mint trend breezing into Spring, inspirations are just everywhere on the internet.

And this picture was what I was inspired by…

I forgot where I got this picture from and hence I am unable to provide the link or credits to this person.

If this picture is yours, please let me know so that I can update the credits.

Weekends away

I have so much I want to update on my blog but I have not posted anything in the past two weeks as I have been busy on the first two weekends of May.

Had a great holiday to celebrate Beebops’ birthday at…..

Photobucket

& this weekend we spent it at a very spiritually & emotionally fulfilling but very mentally tiring camp.

Photobucket

Let me try to settle down and gather my thoughts so that I can share with you all about it.

I think I am going to just head to bed right now after this seemingly non-existent weekend.

Have a great week ahead! 🙂

[Outfit] Bow Wow Wow

I can never resist anything with the Ribbon Bow, much less a garment with three bows.

Plus it is in a flattering dusty pink shade.

This jacket makes me feel just a little more demure whenever I wear it.

I think it affects me in little ways  like how talk & walk. :-p
