The Singapore Flyer has become an iconic landmark along the Marina Promenade ever since it started twirling in 2008. If I remembered correctly, it was sometime during the Chinese New Year holidays.
It has been four years since it opened its doors to tourists and locals a like and I am finally making my first trip in the Singapore Flyer in 2012.
The Singapore Flyer took about 2 and a half years to complete is the tallest Ferris wheel in the world at the point of this post ( 28 July 2012). I must have my disclaimers in place right? Since it is always so plausible that there will be another taller and bigger Ferris Wheel appearing in some parts of the world.
Passenger capsules are installed on the external circumference of the Flyer and they are fully air conditioned. There were a total of 28 capsules.
Queuing up to board the capsules.
The capusule has full glass walls which allows passengers to have a 360 degree view of the landscape and benches are available in the middle of the capsule for passengers to rest in the 30 minutes or so journey.
The capsules are rotated slowly as the main frame of the Ferris wheel makes its revolution.
At the highest point of the Singapore Flyer.
We went there at about 6 plus and by the time it was on its way down the other side, it was starting to get dark and we could catch a glimpse of the illuminated city.
As the capsules are in some motion, albeit very slow, I did get a bit of a headache as I have motion sickness problems.
The Singapore Flyer is a good way to slowly see the city and the sea beyond the Marina Promenade area.
But some people think that the ride was a little too long and can’t wait to get out
But if you don’t really have the time nor the patience to sit through the 30 mins ride, you can always consider heading to the top of Marina Bay Sands to enjoy the view at your own time and target.
It has been two months since I started on an exercise routine with Jenn and the results are slowly starting to show.
But exercising is just one side of the story.
We didn’t quite scrutinize the food we have on our plates nor the drinks that we quench our thirsts with.
We both felt that we have hit a plateau in our routine and needed to start looking into the food that we eat so that we would be able to get rid of our stubborn fats!
We started on the diet and I have been sharing my daily meals on instagram.
My Internet connection should be up and running by the end of this week and I will be able to share in more details on the exercise and diet that we have adopted. 🙂
I will be going for a hike at Bukit Timah Natures Reserve & a BBQ dinner tomorrow.
Looking forward to the weekend. Hope you have fun too!!
See ya again real soon!
Sometimes it is rather nice to be doing a back dated post as it brings me back to place and relive all the memories again. Guess I am just so sentimental!
But the problem comes when you try to recall the details of the food and all, you realise that you need to do a little more homework to get the post with the correct facts. :-p
How long ago did we have Brunch at P.S Cafe? One and a half years ago! *gasp* Well the good thing to note is that we are still friends! hehe..
Claris and I arrived on time and got ourselves settled at the restaurant while waiting for Jen who was still at home when we were already at P.S Cafe.
We kept busy with our cameras and our chatters in the meantime.
Latte for Claris. At least I think it was latte….
Cappuccino for me.
As soon as Jenn arrived, we ordered our brunch choices.
Jenn’s P.S Big Bacon & Eggs.
And for me? As predictable as you can imagine, it was Eggs Benedict for me. For Eggs Benny, it is all about the Hollandaise sauce but the sauce tasted just a little flat without much tangy taste.
We ate and we chatted. We drank and we chatted… And we felt a little peckish and considered some desserts.
In the end, it was the Lemon Meringue & Chocolate Brownie.
I loved the meringue bits but the lemon paste in the pastry was just too sweet with the meringue and the ice cream. As for the brownie, nothing much to fault it except for it being extremely sinful!
By the time we finished all these food, it was already close to 6pm. We were there for close to 5 hours and we could have gone on and on with our conversation if not for our individual dinner appointments. Thinking about it makes me smile at the memories and looking at the pictures now makes my tummy rumble.
Should we head there again soon girls? ;-p
Happy New Year!!
Where was I at the stroke of midnight?
In the middle of ECP!
Our adventure to catch the fireworks left us stuck on the wrong section of the expressway!
But at least we managed to see some of the actions on the bay.
Happy start to a new year!
Once again Happy 2012!

Hope everyone had a great Christmas weekend!
My Christmas weekend was spent filling up on delicious food, catching up with friends and family and simply enjoying the three days break!
Dress: Forever 21, Belt: H&M, Shoes: Melissa
Headed to MBS to spend the weekend.
And ended my Xmas eve gatherings at my auntie’s place over BBQ in the cool weather.
How I could resist the temptation of wearing another red dress for this festive weekend?
I was in JB over the weekend and drove past a banner on the road which was for an event ” Street Food Festival”.
It sounded like a great place to head to for delicious Malaysian dishes and off we went.
We arrived at the location of the bazaar only to be greeted by cold gusts of wind and heavy rain. The rain dampened the mood significantly as there was much of a crowd and the tables prepared in the middle of the walk way were empty as it didn’t have much shelter over them.
The food stalls were lined up in tents stretching more than 300meters in distance. I didn’t managed to take much pictures as I was struggling to keep under the shelter of our umbrella and I couldn’t quite dig out my camera from my disorganized bag. If only it wasn’t raining so heavily when we first got to the Street Food Festival Fair, I would have bought more food to try and nibble on.
Only when we stopped at this fried rice stall to order our food did I take some pictures.
Opposite the fried rice stall was this sugar cane juice stall which looked like they have been juicing those canes to no end.
We found a table under a leaky shelter and ordered oyster omelette to complement our prawn fried rice.
When I mentioned that it was a leaky shelter, it wasn’t just droplets here and there. But it was a major leak like a mini waterfall!
The rain became a light drizzle and that was when we hear continuous loud explosive noises and they were having a fireworks display right above us!
The fireworks display went on for more than 10 minutes before heading back to the tents to finish up our food with smiles on our faces for the unexpected feast for our eyes.
At Jusco Tebrau City, we stumbled upon these Christmas hats that matched the outfits that we were wearing for the day!
I was so tempted to get this cute Christmas Tree hat!
My outfit for the day. I bought this t-shirt at the Disney Store when I was in Milan. Admittedly it is hardly an item that serves as a memento for Milan, but who could resist a Mickey T-shirt? :p I kinda miss Italy recently and hence decided to wear this Tshirt. I sure hope I wouldn’t reach out to this top everytime I start missing anything Italian!
T-shirt: Disney shop in Milan, Skirt: A&F, Booties: Taiwan, Bag: Longchamp
Ended the weekend with a nice BBQ dinner whilst it was raining. The cool temperatures, light breeze, good food and of cos the wonderful company was a great way to slowly savor the last bits of the weekend.
And more importantly to celebrate Alison’s birthday. 🙂 Happy birthday young lady!
