Universal Studios Singapore – Hollywood & WaterWorld

Finally we have a world renowned theme park on the shores of Singapore!

We had breakfast at VivoCity’s McDonalds before we started the morning at the park.

We didnt see driving in as an option as the hourly parking was a little too much for us to swallow and hence decided to take the public transport. But if you do intend to drive there, do keep to the left of the bridge as there is a ramp that will lead directly into Resorts World Sentosa (RWS) carpark and you can avoid paying the entrance fee into Sentosa.

Getting to Universal Studios Singapore or RWS, one could either take the Sentosa Express from Level 3 of VivoCity for $3 per person. You could get an elevated view of RWS when you take the Sentosa Express as the tracks run above the ground. The other option would be taking the RWS bus, bus number RWS8, from the bus stop right outside VivoCity for $2 per person. This bus stops at the entrance of the casino of RWS.

The USS is made up of 7 sections: Hollywood, New York, Sci-Fi City, Ancient Egypt, Lost World, Far Far Away and Madagascar.

Upon entering the park, we will reach Hollywood Main Street where there are shops selling souvenirs, food amongst others.

Also on this street we found quite a number famous characters on this street.

Beetle Juice was very gamely in posing all the pictures he took with everyone! I was dressed like his sidekick in my stripes dress!

Always get your hands on a copy of the various show times to plan your route around the park and not walk around like a headless chicken as it can get very tiring cos the Sun is not exactly very friendly in Singapore.

Our first destination in the park was Lost World, right at the back of the park to watch the WaterWorld Show.

I didn’t manage to get any good pictures out of the WaterWorld performance partly cos there was a lot of glare and backlight on the performance area partly cos I was engrossed in the performance with all the action from the stunt performers and also the explosive parts. But here is one but it doesnt do much justice to the effects of the show.

Will end off this post here and share the other parts of the park in another post.
