Christian Lacroix’s Favourite Colour…

Must be red.

Cos it’s free entry to his “The Costumier” exhibition if you wear red.

Christian Lacroix – Fashion and Costume Designer

“Since I was a child I’ve loved going to the opera, theatre and ballet,” says Lacroix, a designer known for his opulence and perfectly at home taking inspiration from precious gems – the cut and polish, the intense colours, the sparkle – that inspired Balanchine himself.
“For me, I am still very happy to be able to do stage design as it’s an opportunity to express the extreme. Without opera and ballet, I would have to provide extreme shows and that’s not what my fashion is all about any more.”

His love for theatre and opera eventually formed the foundation of his inspirations for his career in costume and fashion design.

The exhibition was a small showcase of the costumes that he designed for the various stage plays, opera and ballet performances.
His designs for these costumes were amazing! Lots of intricate detailing, extravagantly opulent. Simply breathtaking.

beebops “played cheat” by wearing that jersey cos it’s RED!

After the exhibition, I went to the surprise dinner for Min, which Mr J painstakingly arrange making the effort to accommodate all our crazy schedules.

Dinner was at Mykii, at Holland Village.

Later did I find out that the both of them went to this little island in Greece for their holiday last year and he specially chose this restaurant cos of the memories they shared there. Awww that’s so uber sweet….

Despite it’s Mediterranean inspiration and settings, the food served was ,in fact, fusion style.

I had Seafood Linguine with Laska Pesto. Yummy. Very fragrant with the stone bowl to keep my linguine warm.

Catching up over dinner and a warm pot of tea is always good. But the air con didnt seem to be working properly and we were left fanning ourselves amidst our laughing and chatting.

Just when we decided we should scoot of to somewhere cooler, Mr J asked for his preordered birthday cake for Min. Sweet x2!
Happy Birthday Min! *hugs*
